Verdict: Infection! :-(

My worst fear has become a reality, I indeed have an infection.

During the next couple of days I will have to undergo all the pre-op procedures for clearance again and have my port removed. I do not know all the whens and whats yet but will keep you informed. All I know is that the port will be removed soon and that I may lose my restriction since it is complicated to clip the lap-band tubing.

Need to be sad for a couple of hours and digest the bad news.

This is a major set-back for me and I am really starting to think that some force does not want me to get slim and puts those nasty obstacles in my path.

I will show you who will be slim very soon! Nothing and nobody will stop me!!!

  7. I am sorry to hear this news. My boyfriend had an infection, and they removed his port and replaced it in a different location. I think it was all done at once (this happened a few months before I met him). Anyway, moral of the story is that he is about 70 pounds down...it did slow his loss, but he is still on the path!

  9. I'm so sorry it's an infection. Most of us have some set backs with this(maybe not as harsh as yours), we all took a huge step to get this done and deal with our weight issues. Once your port is replaced you'll be back on track. Let us know when you go back in.

  11. First things first.. let's get you in good shape to move forward. You don't want an infection to linger. Your health is most important. Yes this is a setback, but look at the positive. You acted on something that you felt was not right. It could have made all the difference for you continuing with the band. I am sure your surgeon will advise you. Don't lose faith.. we are all hear to support you.. be well.
